One-Pot Galbi-jjim

An express, one-pot recipe for Galbi-jjim, a Korean braised short rib dish, made with a simple sauce and various vegetables. The longer you cook, the more tender the meat!

What you need

cup mirin

cup water

tbsp sesame seed

onion
head fresh garlic

lb short ribs

bunch green onion

tbsp honey

cup soy sauce
potato

cup rice cake
Instructions
1. Prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, mirin, sesame seeds, honey, and water in a bowl. 2. Soak the beef short ribs in water to drain the blood, changing the water at least once. 3. Place the drained short ribs into a large pot. 4. Add minced garlic over the ribs. 5. Add the chopped potatoes, sliced onion, mushrooms, and green onions to the pot. 6. Soak rice cakes in water, then add them to the pot. 7. Pour the prepared sauce over all the ingredients. 8. Cover the pot and cook on the stove for approximately 30 minutes until the meat is tender and everything is cooked through. 9. Serve hot, for instance with rice and kimchi.
